Just another brick in the wall

The second batch of commemorative Pollok bricks have been added to the pavilion wall at Newlandsfield and they look great. You can see them ?in the flesh? this Saturday as we host our Glasgow neighbours, Clydebank.

If you missed out last time, orders are being taken for the third batch of bricks. These would make a great gift for the special Pollok fan in your life or even for yourself to remember ?the happiest days of our lives?, watching the ?lok.

Orders will be taken for the next four weeks and forms can be obtained from the pavilion on matchday. John Hickey will be taking orders on matchday. Bricks are priced at ?35.

Fancy being a sweeper for the Lok?

The ground team are looking for some volunteers this Saturday to get the terraces clean and ready for the big kick off on Saturday afternoon.

If you can spare a few hours from 8am on Saturday, drop down to Newlandsfield to lend a hand.

We’ll then kick off the 2018-19 campaign with our Sectional League Cup match against Maryhill at 2pm.

MTLN!

Ground maintenance – Volunteers required!

Maintenance and repairs to the pitch are well underway at Newlandsfield but there is a lot of work to be done to get the ground looking at its best for the new season. Off the pitch there are plenty of jobs to be attended to to make sure that Pollok continues to be one of the best grounds in the junior game.

We are looking for volunteers over the next few Saturdays to lend a hand with whatever they can manage to do whether it be a bit of painting, cleaning or some general diy jobs. The pavilion will be open from around 9:30am on each of the next two Saturdays for volunteers to come and give us some help.

Fixture news: Pollok to end January at home

After last weeks flurry of new fixtures for January, the club can confirm that we will finish up the first month of 2018 with a home match against Hurlford United in the league. The Hurlford fixture follows a home match against Arthurlie on January 6th before we hit the road to play Clydebank on the 13th and then Rossvale in the Scottish Junior Cup on the 20th.

We look forward to seeing you at Newlandsfield next year!

Fixture news: Neighbours to first foot at Newlandsfield

In our first fixture of 2018, neighbours Arthurlie will ‘first-foot’ Newlandsfield in our tenth game of the McBookie Super Premier on Saturday January 6th. This will be our first league match against Arthurlie this season although we have faced them in the Sectional Group stage, where we ran out winners thanks to a solitary Bryan Young goal.

We follow this match with a trip to the west of the city to play Clydebank at Holm Park on January 13th. Both fixtures will kick off at 1:45pm.

In cup news, the draw for the Scottish Cup 4th Round will be made at 2pm on Thursday 21st December (tomorrow). We’ll have news as soon as the Lok are out the hat!

Pollok staying home for Christmas

As a result of the 3-3 draw away at Glasgow Perthshire in the Scottish Cup last Saturday, we will now face the Keppoch Park men at Newlandsfield in a replay this Saturday (2nd Dec, 1:45pm KO). This replaces the original fixture against Rob Roy which was originally scheduled for this date. The cup replay is the first of 3 home fixtures in December as the ‘Lok round off a busy 2017.

On the 9th of December we will welcome Auchinleck Talbot to Newlandsfield for the first meeting of the two clubs this season. This game also has a 1:45pm kick off.

To round off the year we will face Kilwinning Rangers in the return fixture of the league calendar. The two clubs met earlier this season with a brace from Stefan McCluskey sealing the 3 points for Pollok in a hard fought 2-1 victory.

All three games kick off at 1:45pm and are ?6/?3 entry.

And if you think a Saturday watching the ‘Lok may hinder your Christmas shopping then never fear, copies of the 2018 Pollok club calendar will be on sale at all home matches costing ?8.
