Sheldon joins the backroom

The club are delighted to welcome Brian Sheldon back to the club as part of Murdo MacKinnon’s management team.

A now familiar face at Newlandsfield, Brian started his football career at Larkhall Thistle followed by a two year spell at Airdrie, with moves to Livingston Utd, Cambuslang Rangers and Pumpherston thereafter.

His coaching career began at first Junior club Larkhall, and took in Cumnock before he joined the Shotts BA management team in 2009. He joined Pollok in 2013 before leaving in 2018, after nearly 5 years at the club, but has now returned to Newlandsfield to the delight of manager, Murdie MacKinnon.

“I am delighted to welcome Sheldy back to the club as part of our management team.

Sheldy, is a first class individual who simply tells it how it is. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to what is already, a fantastic backroom team. He is familiar with the club, committee, players and supporters and will now contribute to our success moving forward! I welcome him back to the club and all of the management team look forward to working with him moving forward!”

Speaking to pollokfc.com, Sheldon expressed how happy he was to be back;

During my previous spell at Pollok I was touched by the entire ethos of the club and the many hard working individuals behind the scenes that have made the club what it is, sadly some no longer with us. I left the club due to personal circumstances however I have continued to keep in touch both with committee members and Murdie. I didn’t know Murdie overly well when he joined the club however having worked with many people over the years in football I instantly recognised his energy , integrity, knowledge and above all honesty which are so important in this game which can be full of egos.

As such we have built a solid relationship over the years and I have helped out in various capacities. Murdie has developed a first class management team full of like minded people and when we discussed the opportunity of returning to the club in a formal capacity I had no hesitation in accepting . My role will evolve as required.

Welcome back, Sheldy!

Welcome to Pollok…Chris Dallas

Pollok Football Club are delighted to announce Chris Dallas as the sixth new signing of the summer.

Prolific striker Dallas, 32, counts Darvel, East Kilbride Thistle, Arthurlie, Albion Rovers and most recently Glenafton, as his former clubs. A Scottish Cup and West Premier winner in 2016/17, Chris has scored over 50 goals in the past three seasons at Glenafton.

Lok boss Murdie Mackinnon was delighted to add more firepower to the squad and had the following to say;

“Chris is a proven goalscorer in the Premiership and as well as goals, he’ll bring a physical presence and experience to our attack. He’s got good pace and has been one of the best strikers in the juniors in recent years.”

Welcome to Pollok, Chris!

Murdie’s Movember

Don’t be mistaken for thinking over the next few weeks that there’s a new man in the ‘lok dugout on matchdays; it’s just our Assistant Manager Murdie who is cultivating a moustache for Movember!

Murdie and his work colleagues are raising money for Cancer Research and would really appreciate any help that the ‘lok family can provide.

Myself and a group of friends are taking part in Movember this year in order to raise money for Cancer Research.?We are doing this in memory of our colleague who sadly passed away in the summer from Cancer. This terrible illness impacts on so many people’s lives in Scotland today. I am sure we all want this to change for the better.?I hope that our club and supporters can help me and my colleagues raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research by donating at the link below;?
