Danny MacKenzie signs again

The club are pleased to confirm that Danny MacKenzie has signed a contract extension with the club until June 2021.

Danny joined the club in 2018 from Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and after impressive debut season, he was named Pollok Player of the Year for 2018-19. He has so far made 47 appearances for the club.

We caught up with manager Murdie MacKinnon who had this to say on Danny’s re-signing;

I?m really happy that Danny has decided to extend his stay at the club. He is a super talented footballer who has one of the best engines on the game. Danny has demonstrated this on many occasions. He had a bit of a stop start season last year with injuries but hopefully that is behind him now.

I am sure we will see Danny return to the form that resulted in him being awarded the Pollok FC, Player of the Year in 2018-19. I look forward to seeing Danny once again in the Pollok colours.

Danny MacKenzie joins fellow defenders Paul Gallacher, David Barron, Grant Evans, Gerry McLauchlan and Mark Sideserf in the Pollok squad for the next campaign.

Meanwhile, our Donate a Ticket campaign is ongoing. 100% of donations go directly to the club which helps with ongoing costs as a result of loss of ticket income. Any donations, if you are able, are very welcome.

News from the AGM

On Monday night, the Pollok FC members oversaw the appointment of a new President, Vice President and Match Secretary.

Tom Gilliland becomes our new President and will be ably assisted by Graham Milne as Vice President. Martin Donnelly takes on the role of match secretary whilst Stuart McCulloch remains secretary and Kerr Dickson continues to assist us as our financial advisor.

Everyone at the club would like to thank the outgoing officials for all their hard work and dedication over the years.

Another important decision was made at the AGM as Danny MacKenzie was named as members Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season. Well done Danny! The award will be presented at the Pollok Player of the Year night on May 31st. Tickets can be purchased from committee members at matches, alternatively, message the club through our social channels or email info@pollokfc.com

Trio agree contract extensions

Pollok are delighted to confirm that three players have extended their contracts until the end of next season.

Summer acquisitions Danny Boyle and Danny MacKenzie are joined by recent signing Jamie Henry in agreeing terms for season 2019-20.

Danny Boyle has made 25 appearances in a Lok shirt, only missing one game, since his move from Rob Roy. His counterpart MacKenzie has featured 16 times for Pollok scoring two goals.

Former Aberdeen youth captain Jamie Henry joined the club at the tail end of last year and has made 7 appearances so far in the Lok midfield.

Earlier this month the club released striker David Gormley to allow him to sign for amateur side Nico?s. Aaron Millar also departed the club at the end of his loan period from Clyde. Once again, we?d like to wish both players well for the future.
