Saltcoats Victoria are the visitors to Newlandsfield this week in the South Challenge Cup.

Last weekend, Pollok continued their good form with a 3-1 away win against Hurlford, goals from McKenzie, Forde and McGregor. The club sit second in the WoSFL Premier Division with a record of five wins, two draws and the one defeat.

Saltcoats are currently managed by Bryan Slavin and have put together a young squad this year. Saltcoats were relegated from the Third Division last season and it has been a tough start to the season for Vics as they sit bottom of the WoSFL Fourth Division, with a record of seven losses in seven games. The club were originally formed in 1889, then re-formed in 1911. They have won the Scottish Junior Cup once, in 1925. Their last trophy was the Ayrshire Second Division, which they won in 1993.

The last meeting between Pollok and Saltcoats came in the West of Scotland Cup on May 12, 2018 at Campbell Park. Pollok ran out 11-0 winners. The previous meeting to this, took place at Newlandsfield back in 2002, again in the West of Scotland Cup, Pollok won this one 10-0.
