Today’s match sponsor Dianne Baronwell presents Darren Christie with the Man of the Match prize after a tireless display in a resounding 6-2 win.

Pollok face manager Stewart Maxwell’s former side Kirkintilloch Rob Roy at Newlandsfield on Saturday in the WoSFL Premier Division.

Pollok are third in the table after last week’s home win over Cumnock, 3-0, the goals all coming in the second half from Chris Duff, Adam Forde and Jay Nelson. Rob Roy are sitting 9th in the table with a record of seven wins, two draws and nine defeats. Last week, Rob Roy beat Hurlford 2-1 at Guys Meadow.

Rob Roy were formed in 1878, one of the oldest clubs in the WOSFL, the club were based at Adamslie Park for many years but have been sharing with Cumbernauld since 2014 as they await a new stadium in Kirkintilloch. The Rabs have won the Scottish Junior Cup on 3 occasions, 1921, 1943 and 1962. Their last trophy was the Central League Cup in 2017. Former Pollok player Chic Charnley had a short spell at Rob Roy, as did Marvin Andrews, Stevie Chalmers, Joe McBride and George Young to name a few former professional players who have wore the red and black.

The record between both clubs in the last five matches, is favourable to Pollok with the Lok winning 4 and losing one. The last match between the sides took place back in December at Guys Meadow when goals from Fraser Mullen and Gary McCann gave Pollok a 2-0 win. The corresponding fixture last season at Newlandsfield saw Rob Roy leave with all three points after a 3-0 win.
