An Adam Forde double was enough to see Pollok victors over an ?off par? Hurlford side at Newlandsfield on Saturday. Tony McInally was beaming as he said; “Im delighted, we played really well and after being short on numbers recently we showed what we can do. We try to play that sharp slick football every week and today we managed to pull it off.?
Pollok started the game the brightest, testing ?Ford keeper Ally Brown through Nicky Little and Stefan McCluskey in the opening 5 minutes. High tempo end-to-end football followed, with Dean Agnew cutting through the defence down the left hand side and got a shot away with Longmuir diving to his left hand side to gather comfortably.
Lok continued to apply the pressure to the men from East Ayrshire, with the opener coming three minutes before half time for the home side. Adam Forde tapped home a well worked move after Stefan McCluskey played in Gary McCann down the right hand side who squared it into the middle for Adam Forde to score with a poachers finish.
Lok continued with their momentum in the second half, playing some slick football, with Bryan Young and Ryan MacGregor controlling the game.
Adam Forde grabbed his second goal of the game after a carbon copy of the play for the first goal. Stefan McCluskey exposed the space on the right hand side again playing in Gary McCann, who duly obliged to square it to Adam Forde again who finished the move with ease to score his second of the game. His 3rd in four games.
After the match Scorer Adam Forde said;
?Aye I?m glad that i got the two goals, i thought i and the team did really well! Usually we struggle after going one up so it?s really enjoyable to see it through today. We?re obviously trying to play like that every week, for the squad we?ve got here we know we should be a lot higher up the league and being more consistent.”
?Im a confidence player so hopefully I can kick on now and show why I should be starting every week barring any call offs ’cause of the weather!?
