Pollok finally kick off 2024 today with a home match against Glenafton. After several postponements due to wintry conditions, Newlandsfield is basking in the morning sun for today’s game.

December 16th was the last time Pollok played when we beat Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 2-1 away. Everyone is raring to get back into action. Pollok are currently 7th in the West of Scotland Premier Division, with 22 points. Todays opponents, Glenafton, are currently 15th with a record of two wins, three draws, and seven losses, giving them a total of nine points.

The Glen’s had a change of management in November when Ryan Caddis replaced Mark Roberts in the hot seat.

Pollok has a good recent record against Glenafton, with four wins and one draw in the last five matches. The last meeting between the sides was in August at Loch Park, when Pollok won 5-2.

Glenafton was formed in 1930 and won numerous Ayrshire titles and cups. Their last title was the West of Scotland Super League Premier Division in 2017. The club have won two Junior Scottish Cups, beating Tayport in 1993 and then Auchinleck Talbot in 2017.
