After a couple of weeks on the road, Pollok return to Newlandsfield for our second game of 2022.
Benburb make the short journey across the southside for a Glasgow derby match, with both teams looking to continue their good form.
Pollok are looking to keep their distance at the top of the table after another win last week away to Largs, the 2-0 win moved Pollok 11 points clear of Talbot, who have games in hand.
The Bens are unbeaten in four games, two wins and two draws, they have scored in each game which includes a 4-0 win over Clydebank, a 4-1 win last week against Cumbernauld and a 3-3 draw away to Kilbirnie. They currently sit 11th in the Premier Division on 33 points, with a record of 9 wins, 6 draws and 10 defeats.
We only have to look back to our last match against Benburb in November to know how dangerous they can be. On 6th November, Pollok raced into a 3-0 lead only to concede three late goals for the match to end 3-3. And the Govan outfit comes into this match in better shape than when we met up earlier in the season.
Pollok do have a good recent record against Benburb having not lost in our last six matches, with the last two meetings ending in draws and the four previous going the way of the ‘Lok. The last match at Newlandsfield was way back in 2017 when Pollok won 2-0 in the Central League Cup.
Keep your eyes peeled on the club social media accounts in the coming days for news on off the park developments.
