Last season’s WoSFL Premier Division champions, Beith, are the visitors to Newlandsfield this weekend in a crucial top of the table clash.
Beith are sitting second in the table, while Pollok are a place and a point behind. Both teams have games in hand on league leaders Clydebank.
It’s been over a month since Polloks’ last league game, after a run of Cup games taking place, and it doesn’t get any tougher than last season champions.
Last week, Pollok had a free weekend while Beith had a chance to close the gap on Clydebank as they travelled to Holm Park, Beith would leave empty-handed after Clydebank won 3-0.
Beith won both encounters last season between the clubs. They won 3-2 at Newlandsfield on Sept 2nd, 2022, and followed that up with a 1-0 win at Bellsdale Park in January of this year. The last five matches give Pollok the edge, winning three, with those two losses.
Founded in 1938, Beith are managed by Chris Strain, who was appointed at the start of last season and would guide the club to their league success. Beith won the Scottish Junior Cup in 2016, beating Pollok on penalties.
