Glasgow Perthshire 3-3 Pollok
Scottish Junior Cup
Saturday 25th November 2017, Keppoch Park
Pollok narrowly avoided being victims of a Scottish Junior Cup shock, a late equaliser taking their third round tie with 9-man Glasgow Perthshire to a replay. Stuart McCann gave ?Lok a 21st minute lead, getting in behind the defence to nod over the onrushing Chris Calder.
The home side restored parity seven minutes later, Mark Thomson?s shot from an indirect free-kick deflecting off the wall and looping over Jordan Longmuir. Pollok had the chance to regain the lead before the interval when they were awarded a penalty, Calder guessing correctly to deny Adam Forde.
The visitors led again two minutes into the second period, Bryan Young first to react after a Calder save. David Kirkwood showed ?Lok how to do it when he netted a 59th minute spot-kick before Fraser Malcolm made it 3-2 to the Shire eight minutes later. Nicky Little came off the bench to make it 3-3 with a thumping finish, Thomson receiving his marching orders in the aftermath.
There was more late drama in the 4th minute of stoppage time, Mark Sideserf having another penalty saved as?Kirkwood joined Thomson in the early bath.
