Pollok FC are sad to announce the passing of our former president Gordon Allan at the age of 77.
Gordon’s involvement of the club went back decades and encompassed several roles. As well as serving as president from, Gordon also had spells as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, with his time in these roles covering two very successful periods in the club’s history – the late 1990s when we won the Junior Cup against Tayport in 1997, and the 2000s when we qualified for the Scottish Cup for the first time and welcomed Montrose to Newlandsfield.
On top of these executive positions, Gordon also edited our matchday programme, and contributed to popular Pollok fanzine Fulton One-Nil.

Gordon was a man who dedicated a large portion of his life to Pollok in a variety of ways. While he was never one to seek the limelight, he always showed up for the club, and will be sadly missed by the whole Pollok family who will have an opportunity to remember him and celebrate his life at Saturday’s match against Albion Rovers.
I was fortunate enough to have served alongside Gordon on committee and then as a club official for many years and he was a real gentleman and professional ,using his accountancy knowledge to guide the club through many financial mazes over that time. He loved Pollok and the ups and downs of non league football and always had a smile and a cheery demeanour even when things got challenging. Gracious in defeat and delighted when Lok won silverware in his time Gordon would enjoy nothing better than a post match beer and some live music in the social club after a long away day win lose or draw! A great and dignified Lok man who was a friend to many in the game at our level.
Fergus McDiarmid, Former President
All at the club would like to extend our deepest condolences to Gordon’s family and friends at this sad time.
We will share funeral details with supporters as soon as we are able to.
