Pollok are pleased to announce the signing of promising youngsters Alex Mann & Liam Rooney from Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season.

Alex is an eighteen year-old centre back, who can also play further forward in the midfield. A key member of the Thistle U19s squad, he made his first team debut in Steven Lawless’s testimonial match against St Mirren at Firhill in November.

Having moved up from the under-18s last season, seventeen year-old right-sided defender Liam made his SPFL Championship debut in April against Hamilton Academical at the age of just sixteen, before signing a two-year contract with the Jags in June of last year.

Our thanks also go to Thistle’s Academy Director Craig Dargo and Sporting Director Ian Baraclough, who have been very supportive throughout this process.

Both players are very highly-regarded prospects at the Jags, and we look forward to seeing them develop further here at Newlandsfield!
