Pollok can confirm that forward Adam Forde will leave the club after today’s match against Auchinleck Talbot following the expiration of his current contract.

Adam signed for Pollok in 2017 from Kilbirnie Ladeside, scoring on his debut against Neilston in the Sectional League Cup – this maiden strike was not quite of the same standard as what we soon became used to, with the ball bouncing in off his face! He scored twenty goals in his debut campaign which ended with Pollok lifting the Central League Cup. He scored nineteen the following season, and was on fifteen before Covid-19 curtailed the 19-20 season, scoring Pollok’s last-ever goal as a Junior club against Dalry Thistle.

A loan spell at Neilson followed after Pollok elected not to compete in the lockdown season of 20-21, before Adam returned to Pollok and scored our first goal as a senior club in the opening West of Scotland Premier Division match against Blantyre Victoria.

Adam’s finest season in black and white came last year in 23-24, when he scored thirty goals, helping us to reach the West of Scotland Cup final.

Since signing, he has had a penchant for spectacular goals, with the standouts being two overhead kicks in the space of a week against Largs Thistle and Benburb when his brace hauled Pollok back from the brink of a Scottish Cup exit.

This season saw Adam overtake four players in our all-time scorer chart, to take his place at third, making him our highest ever scorer since the 1950s. Typically, he moved into third with yet another outstanding overhead kick against Drumchapel United.

Adam will be remembered as an all-time Pollok great. As our greatest goal scorer in living memory, the statistics speak for themselves, but the consistent quality of his goals have marked him out as a special player. Beyond the goals, his link-up play, set-pieces and work-rate off the ball have been first class, and indicative of an outstanding all-round player. His commitment to Pollok over a number of years has been immense, and I would like to wish him and his family well for what comes next.
