Thomas Starrs joins Rutherglen Glencairn

The club can confirm that young goalkeeper Thomas Starrs has completed a transfer to Ruthglen Glencairn.

Thomas joined Pollok alongside his Bargeddie Colts teammates who formed last season’s under 20s team.

He made his debut off the bench against Forres Mechanics in a pre-season friendly last summer. Soon after, he made his first start in a 1-1 draw against Dundee United B in the Broxburn tournament. With the game going to penalties, Thomas made two saves to take Pollok to the final, where he played the full ninety minutes as Broxburn Athletic won 3-2 in their anniversary tournament.

Thomas was first choice for the Pollok Under 20s team that finished runners up to Benburb in the West of Scotland Development League Conference B – just two points off the title.

Thomas featured three times on the bench last season and was part of Paul Gallacher’s side in the Jordan Longmuir Testimonial Match.

As part of the transfer to Rutherglen Glencairn Pollok, retains the option of first refusal on Thomas in the future.

We would like to thank Thomas for his efforts, with both the first team and Under 20s, and we wish him the best for the future.
