24/25 Squad Update

Pollok FC can confirm that Chris Duff, Sean Burns and Matty Burrows will depart Pollok following the expiration of their contracts. Jamie Henry has also been released as he takes a break from football due to work commitments.

Chris Duff joined Pollok in the summer of 2019, having previously played for Rossvale and getting his start in junior football under Stewart Maxwell at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. A tricky winger, Duff has been a significant goal threat for Pollok over the years, scoring 27 times in 115 appearances, with outside of the foot screamers against Cumnock and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy last season being among the highlights. Despite injuries limiting his minutes, this season has been his most prolific with nine goals, mostly scored off the bench.

Sean Burns signed for Pollok in 2022 from Stranraer, having spent seven years at Queens Park, along with spells at Brechin City, Stenhousemuir and Forfar Athletic. He departs Newlandsfield having made 66 appearances, including all eight Scottish Cup ties as we reached the Third Round in each of the last two seasons. In this time, he also chipped in with four goals.

Jamie Henry returned to Newlandsfield at the end of 2023 having previously made 46 appearances for Pollok between 2018 and 2020. Between these two spells, he turned out for Wimborne Town and Bemerton Heath Harlequins in England. In the second half of this season, he made sixteen appearances and has now been released from his contract due to work commitments.

Matty Burrows arrived last summer from University of Stirling but injuries limited the versatile defender to just four competitive appearances in the early stages of this season.

All at Pollok would like to thank Chris, Sean, Jamie and Matty for their contributions to the club during their time at Newlandsfield, and we wish them and their families all the best for the future.
