Welcome to Pollok…Jonathan Lyon

The club are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Jonathan Lyon. A product of the Greenock Morton youth set-up, 19 year old Lyon was most recently at Drumchapel United. He also spent time on loan at Port Glasgow Juniors whilst at Morton. Jonathan made a brief substitute appearance for the Lok in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Arthurlie.

Talking to pollokfc.com, Murdie MacKinnon had the following to say on his latest summer signing;

Jonny is an excellent young player who has shown the quality and hunger in order to earn a place in our squad.

He is a dynamic and highly competitive midfielder who brings great energy to the team. His technically ability is equally very good.

What young players lack in experience, they more than make up for in hunger and desire. This gives the experienced players a lift also. There is a lack of fear with young players that can be contagious, it can spread throughout the squad.

Jonny’s attitude has been first class. He is determined to prove that he belongs at this level and has made it clear that he wants to make it difficult for me to leave him out the side. That’s music to any managers ears!

Jonny has an exciting future ahead. I look forward to watching him in the Pollok shirt.

Welcome to Pollok, Jonathan!
