It is with great sadness that Pollok Football Club must announce the passing of Stewart Geddes at the age of 86.
Stewart was a lifelong Pollok supporter and friend of the club. The word lifelong is often overused when describing football supporters. In Stewart’s case, however, it is especially apt, his father and grandfather both having served as president of the club, before Stewart himself took on the role in the 1970s. Stewart was an honorary life president of the club.
Stewart’s involvement in junior football was not limited to Pollok and he served as president of the Central Region prior to the amalgamation of the regions into the West Region in the early 00s. Stewart also served on the SJFA’s management committee.
Among Stewart’s many contributions to the club over his life, special mention must be made of the dedication and determination he showed working with the social club through much of its life, through good times and bad.
A witty, gentle and kind man, Stewart will be greatly missed by the club and by all those who knew him.
Further details of Stewart’s memorial service will be shared in due course
