Pollok suffer heavy defeat to Brechin

Pollok were thrashed 6-0 at home by a strong Brechin City side at Newlandsfield tonight. The Second Division side went into half time with a two-goal lead and capitalised on a tiring and makeshift Lok defence to ensure a rout in Pollok’s second friendly match of this pre-season.

Although Lok had a number of players missing, Brechin goalkeeper David Scott had to work hard for his clean sheet, pulling off a number of excellent second half saves. Paul McQuilken was especially unlucky not to score after rattling the crossbar from all of thirty yards.

Pollok’s next match is another home friendly, against Maryhill at Newlandsfield this Saturday. Kick off is at 2.00pm.
