ALLAN MacKENZIE (Forward, 23) – 15 starts, 16 subs, 4 goals
This is Alan’s second spell with Pollok, having originally arrived from Alloa Athletic in the summer of 2010. His solitary season at Newlandsfield saw him lift the 2010/11 D&D Programmes Central League Cup before a move to Tony McInally’s Emirates Scottish Junior Cup winning Shotts Bon Accord side. He rejoins from West Region champions Auchinleck Talbot. (Our apologies to Alan for this old photograph—we’ll get a better one soon!)
JORDAN LONGMUIR (Goalkeeper, 26)
‘Keeper Jordan has just returned from a trip to Slovenia as part of the EWC Scotland side who topped the standings in the preliminary round of the UEFA Regions’ Cup, Europe’s biggest Amateur tournament. He returns to the Juniors after an extended spell with leading Amateur outfit Colville Park, having spent two years at Bathgate Thistle and a further two at B’ness United.
Jordan spoke to pollokfc.com about his move: “I’m delighted to be joining POllok and I am looking forward to what will hopefully be a successful season that will see Pollok return to the Super Premier division. I’m also looking forwatrd to working with Brian Whelan again, having worked with him on and off since I was 18. He knows me inside-out and I feel like I play best when I work with him on a regular basis.
“Obviously, playing front of a big, vocal and extremely passionate Pollok support was also a big draw for me”
“All in all, I can’t wait to get started!”
MICHAEL McGEE (Midfielder) – 0 starts, 1 sub, 0 goals
Michael has progressed through the ranks with John Alexander’s Pollok Juveniles side, earning himself an opportunity with the first team at Newlandsfield. He already has one ‘Lok appearance to his name, as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Kilbirnie Ladeside in 2011, and has been included infrequently in Pollok squads since.
