Assistant manager Stephen Docherty has left Pollok Football Club with immediate effect.
Speaking about his decision to leave, Docherty said “I’m sorry to be leaving, but I feel it’s time for me to move on. I’ve loved every minute of my time at Pollok and it goes without saying that I wish every success to Pollok in the months and years to come.”
Manager John Richardson expressed his disappointment at Docherty’s decision, and said “Stephen played a massive part in the turn-around of our club’s fortunes and I’m sorry he has decided to leave; but he seems pretty sure it’s time for him to go. Obviously I wish Stephen every success for the future. On behalf of the players and myself, I’d like to thank him for all the time and effort he has put in at Pollok”.
Club President Fergus McDiarmid echoed John’s sentiment: ‘We’re all sorry that Stephen has decided to go, but I’ve no doubt that he will be successful wherever he turns up next. The committee and I would like to extend our gratitude to Stephen for all he has done for the club.”
