Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 7:41 On Monday 2nd April, members and fans of Pollok Football Club will have the opportunity to put their questions to manager John Richardson in a Question and Answer session.
The event, which will be independently chaired, will take place in the social club, starting at 7:30pm. Members will receive free admission, but non-members are asked to pay a donation at the door.
We hope that fans will welcome this opportunity to engage more closely with the club, and respond by coming along in numbers to hear the manager's own views.
Friday, March 16, 2012 at 1:52 The winners of the Yoker Athletic v Pollok D&D Programmes cup tie next Saturday will travel to Bellshill Athletic in round three of the competition. Maryhill or Renfrew await the winners of that game in the quarter-finals, and whichever one of those five clubs that survives will be rewarded with a home semi-final against one of eight potential opponents.
Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 16:33 It’s been a funny few weeks, and I’d like to use this platform to speak about the Swift/Crilly affair, results and the Arthurlie game at the weekend.
Everybody’s disappointed to see Stephen Swift go, but I’m especially disappointed with the way he handled himself over the affair. Given the massive outlay the club put out on his signing and wages since he left Medda; for the club captain I appointed to walk out the way he did without a word to myself or the committee is just unprofessional. It doesn’t even matter that whether he’s injured or not; I’d ideally like my club captain to be around the dressing room supporting the other players whatever the case. But either way, he’s gone, and it’s not going to make much of a difference.
Altogether, managing Pollok has felt a bit like a soap opera in recent months, with so much going on with the players that it’s sometimes been hard to focus on the football side of it. And results have been less than great as well, no doubt. But every single person who cares about this football club must stay upbeat. People are going round saying “relegation, relegation”—and do you know what? The more you say it, the more supporters and players alike will start to believe it. But I mean, really, there are still 21 points still to play for. No matter who they’re against, we’ll be taking every single match one at a time. Me and Mitch have been in this position before twice, and twice we’ve done it.
So, to Arthurlie. This is a huge game, for two massive clubs who’re finding themselves in a strange position. We need every single supporter who wants the best for Pollok to get out to Newlandsfield on Saturday, stay positive, and give the boys your all.
Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 20:07 This will go ahead on Saturday 17/03/12 before the match against Arthurlie.
Anyone interested in membership can come to the pavillion from 1pm until kick off, and for a period after the final whistle. A group of kind volunteers will be happy to show you around, answer any questions you have about the club and about membership; and generally explain and show what being a member of Pollok FC means.
While this is an open day and we invite people to drop in, it would be ideal if you could drop us a line in advance to give us an idea of the numbers we can expect. If you could send a note to info@pollokfc.com ASAP that would be great.
More info on membership can be found at http://pollokfc.com/membership

Monday, March 5, 2012 at 16:31 Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone at Newlandsfield for the support they’ve given me over the years. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have enjoyed so much success with Pollokduring my time here. I’ve never underestimated the role that supporters can play in giving their side an extra lift, and I’d urge Pollok fans to keep doing that.
I’m very disappointed to be leaving Newlandsfield after so long, but there comes a time to move on, and I feel that I need to be playing regular football at this stage in my career. I wish supporters and the club all the best for the future, and I’m sure I’ll be back at Newlandsfield at some point.
Thank you again, and best wishes
Stevie Aitchison

Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 10:35 There has been some discussion concerning club membership around the Pollok web in recent weeks. Some people have expressed doubt or uncertainty about what club membership entails; and some seem concerned that the becoming a member seems very complicated (really, it’s not!).
In response to this, the club intends to hold an open day for anyone curious about becoming a member at the next home game.
More specific details will be announced nearer the time, but anyone attending will be invited into the club’s pavillion for a behind-the-scenes look, and committee and members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
We will also provide membership forms to allow you to be proposed and seconded on the day, should you decide to become a member. This can then be ratified at the Annual General Meeting in April, ahead of next season.
Pollok F.C. is a fan-owned club, and membership allows you to be a part of that. For more information see http://www.pollokfc.com/membership/
