Pre-season Friendly

Fullarton Park, Saturday 25th July 2015

Newly-promoted Pollok kicked off their pre-season campaign with a narrow 2-0 victory over Vale of Clyde at the latter named’s Fullarton Park.

‘Lok handed starts to all five of their summer signings thus far, Mark Sideserf from Irvine Meadow XI, Ross McCabe from Petershill, Chris Walker from Shotts Bon Accord, Colin Williamson from Cumnock, and Derek Hepburn from Vale of Clyde.

It was one of this quintet that opened the scoring in the 17th minute, Williamson getting in behind the Vale defence to lift the ball over the advancing Jon Connolly.

While one of the old boys netted the second, it was created thanks to the unselfish play of Hepburn, who opted to cut the ball across goal for Kieran McAleenan to tap in rather than have a shot from a tight angle.
